20 Jan Software lifecycle analysis comparisons
On 20 January, a meeting held in Brussels brought all the partners to plan immediate actions for 2016.
The meeting mainly focused on the overview and assessment of the latest technical developments.
With respect to the software development and in order to complete the database, partners successfully collected data related to the characteristics of the road materials used as well as energy consumption during the road construction. The immediate next step is to validate the calculation results when using the new SustainEuroRoad software and compare them to the calculations based on traditional techniques in four different countries: France, Hungary, Germany and Spain.
In parallel, ongoing work carried by the consortium is focussed on the monitoring of the environmental impact of the new software. In this sense, various comparisons are being made in terms of energy consumption, materials used and CO2 emissions. Concretely, a dedicated LCA analysis will be completed in every demo site to confirm that the assessments of the software are close to the measured parameters.
